The Security Systems Training council is a group representing all of the major organisations involved in the Electronic Security Industry in Ireland.
The aims and objectives of the group are:
Appropriate Standards
To provide appropriate standards based training programmes for all new personnel entering the electronics sector of our industrv in closed circuit television, access control, intruder alarm, fire alarm systems.
Appropriate Assessment
To deliver an appropriate assessment methodology in Prior Experiental Learning to accommodate existing people within our industry.
Sector Representation
To represent our sector within the industry on all for a with regard to training.
Positive Development
To provide further training curricula towards the positive development of our personnel within the security industry.
Develop Curricula
To initiate and develop curricula in all other areas deemed necessary by the Council.
Research & Information
To provide a resource for the research and information for the Electronic Security Industry in Ireland

The Security Systems Training Council (SSTC) was founded in 1990 to investigate and provide progressive training for the Electronic Security Industry (ESS)
The council was setup in response to the lack of formal training available specifically for the ESS.

Training Requirements
Assessing and providing the training requirements for the Electronic sector of our industry
Apprenticeship Program
Creating a standards based apprenticeship program for the Industry.
Assessment Criteria
Provide for assessment criteria for accreditation of all existing personnel within the Electronic Security Industry.
Integrative Approach
By keeping in constant contact with the industry and emerging technologies.
To lead and provide an integrative approach to ongoing training within our sector of the security
industry.
